The War of Lost Hearts, #1
“Daughter of No Worlds” by Carissa Broadbent is a thrilling epic romantic fantasy of a woman who was bound by slavery and is now defeating the odds through her magical abilities. If you like Sarah J Maas books such as A Court of Silver Flame, this is the book I highly recommend to you.
This is a Bookstagram recommendation and as usual, I am so glad to be a part of this community to discover books I have never heard of before. This was another book I devoured on my vacation and I loved this book with a vengeance.
*heading to the bookstore to get the next two books* here is my money.
This book is so good because there is world-building, but not info-dump world-building where your mind is about to explode because of the amount of detail.
The main character is driven by wanting to set her fellow slaves free but she is also conceded in her personality. Prideful when she accomplishes and achieves magic that it takes years for an apprentice to learn. She is very driven by that. But her motivation also has a good background to it so you understand where she is coming from. So the main female character is slightly flawed but not in an annoying way.
The romance developed over time which is super nice. At the same time, you really didn’t truly see that development just because the timeline of the story jumped months.
Daughter of No Worlds does touch on quite a bit of a few subjects. Slavery, abuse and even gaslighting to name a few. Our main character had to endure and overcome a lot. So this makes this a very intriguing story and can’t wait to read the next books.
According to the grapevine, the books in the series only get better.
