The book “The Inheritance Games” by Jennifer Lynn Barnes, was an exceptional read for a YA fiction book. For once, it kept me guessing throughout the whole book and left me on a cliffhanger for book two in the series.

Lately, I haven’t been drawn to many YA fiction books because sometimes, the main characters are a little immature for my reading taste. Oh, and the drama, is not my cup of tea. But this book had a little bit of that, but not in an obnoxious way that made you want to roll your eyes.

I didn’t see a lot of things coming and I was consistently in the dark about what is going to happen next. Truly enjoying this book to the full extent. I can’t wait to read the next book and see how else this game with the Hawthorne brothers will unfold.

The one thing I can truly gripe about this story is Avery’s best friend Max. I really don’t believe that she really doesn’t add any value to the story. Also, the whole change out the curse words with other things constantly got old really quickly.

I am excited to get to The Hawthorne Legacy, which is the next book in the Inheritance Game series. I am curious to see what mysteries unfold and the love triangle that seems to be happening as well.
