A Court of Wings and Ruin, #3
A Court of Wings and Fury is worth the read is all I can say. Many people who hesitated on the Sarah J Maas series love it once they decide to pick up the books. I have been one of those naysayers for quite a while. Then I gave it a go and have been in love ever since.
In the book community, it is commonly known as ACOTAR: A Court of Thorns and Roses. This is the third book in the series, and this did not disappoint. That being said, what can I say about the series that hasn’t already been said?
A Court of Wings and Fury started with Feyre with Tamlin in the Spring Court. Secretly she is extracting her revenge on Tamlin for all the emotional turmoil and the control he demonstrated over her. Talk about a woman on a mission.
The plot develops over time in the book with Feyre, Rhys and the rest of the crew. They are trying to figure out what to do about the rising power of Hybern and the cauldron he wields. The threat of the wall that divides the human world from the Fae is upon them and they must band together to figure out what to do to save both worlds.
There are many bargains made and also many enemies made in this book. I love the development in this story where the risk that Feyre took to save her people from Hybern. It made it a thrilling story that has me wondering what will happen next.
You see Feyre’s sisters Nesta and Elain in this book as they learn what it is like to be Fae and the powers that they wield. Nesta did get on my nerves throughout this book and over time it did get better with her attitude. Once she got rid of her entitled chip off her shoulder. Yeah, I get it, you were turned into something you spent a long time being told that Fae was evil. But because of it, Nesta made a lot of other people miserable at the same time.
If SJM really wanted to, she could have ended the series right there. There was a conclusion, and I was okay with how things wrapped up in this book. But of course, it isn’t the end and there are several books in the queue to be written. With everything that has already happened in this book, I am truly wondering what else can happen in this series. Either way, I will read the novella and the fourth book A Court of Silver Flames.
If you love Sarah J Maas A Court of Thorn and Roses series, make sure to check out her new series House of Earth and Blood next!
